Mark Torrie  has over 10 years of professional experience, working with players with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Mark started working with kids in rural Scotland where he completed his HND in Sports Coaching and Development from Dundee College. Mark has certifications through the Scottish Football Association (SFA), USSF, and the NSCAA. Since moving stateside he has attained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Movement Science from William Paterson University with a main concentration in physical education. On the soccer side Mark has worked in the Metrostars player development system, as well as coaching Olympic development level players in Staten Island, NY. After a short stint coaching with Matchfit Academy, Mark returned to his roots up in Bergen County at Teaneck High School.

Tom Hunt has over 8 years professional experience, coaching a wide range of ages and abilities, including select travel teams, adult classes and conducting educational clinics for aspiring coaches. Since departing England, where he gained a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Exercise Development, Tom has been certified through the USSF, NSCAA and AYSO. In the last few years he has helped develop an elite Academy program in Montclair, NJ,

Kelly Diaz currently attends The Ohio Valley University in West Virgina. Kelly is the starting goal keeper for the Fighting Scots after impressing throughout his youth career on the State and National Level. Kelly has been a great addition working well with the younger kids in the Speedsters camps whilst focusing more on the Goal Keeper training on the advanced camps. Kelly has also helped train a few of the current crop of Speed Soccer Goal Keepers that play in High School throughout the Northern Valley. A Key addition to the Speed Soccer staff, Kelly is looking forward to increasing his role in the Academy over the coming years.

HEADING

Mark has been working as a Physical Education Teacher in Harrington Park for the past four years along with his Director of Coaching role with the Speed Soccer Academy. The past three years has seen the Speed Soccer Academy run programs in Harrington Park, Northvale, Fort Lee, Old Tappan, Tenafly and Teaneck.

Bob Leichte just recently joined the coaching staff of the Speed Soccer Academy. He has 5 years of experience working with players of different ages and ability levels. He has coached a variety of team sports and has run his own camps as well. On the player side Bob was a four year starter for Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River and also was a four year player for the University of Scranton.

Bob is currently a middle school science teacher at Harrington Park School and is looking forward to his coaching role within the SSA.

James Hamilton joined the Speed Soccer team at the beginning of the 2010 fall season and, together with Coach Mark, is committed to building a comprehensive year round training program offering quality coaching for the local youth.  A native of Paisley, Scotland, it was here James began his youth coaching experience as a volunteer coach for a local team.  James went on to complete his Higher National Diploma in Sports Coaching with Sports Development from the James Watt College Inverclyde campus and attained numerous coaching certifications from the Scottish Football Association (SFA).


More recently, he was a four year starter and two year captain of the Dominican College Chargers, one of the strongest Division II programs in the region; it was here that he was also awarded his degree in Marketing Management and is currently the Associate Head Coach of the team as they continue to prove a strong and successful program. James is also the proud coach of the Girls U9 Development team at World Class FC.

Tom is currently a PE teacher in Hoboken and in addition to his ongoing adult soccer coaching classes with 510soccer; he will be a welcome addition to our program in the coming months.

Mike Papapetrou joined the Speed Soccer coaching staff in 2009 and has become a permanent fixture with us in the communities we work in. A standout college player at Southern Connecticut State University, Mike graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors in Physical Education. Mike is currently working in the Bergenfield School District where he is also the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach and JV Tennis Coach. Bergenfield has seen a resurgence under Mike's tutelige, making states this past year and holding a winning season.

 

Mike's passion for the game exceeds most and he is looking forward to continuing in his expanding role in the organization.

Craig Wilkinson - As one of the newest additions to the Speed Soccer Academy Team, Craig comes in bringing great experience and a fantastic passion for coaching. An ’06 graduate from Nyack College, majoring in Psychology, Craig wasted no time in beginning his soccer coaching career. He has been a staff member at Suffolk Community College (Juco), Dominican College (Division II), Centenary College (Division III) and has recently been named the new Head Coach of the Concordia College Clippers (Division II), Bronxville NY.

 

 

At the youth level, Craig is an established coach with the North Rockland Blue Devils and continues to coach numerous other club teams in the New Jersey area. Already a popular figure with a few of our young Speed Soccer teams, Craig is eagerly anticipating his future within the Academy.
