Speed Soccer Academy 2010
Speed Soccer Youth Initiative
Speed Soccer’s Youth Initiative is heavily influenced by the movement made in youth soccer in Scotland. Speed Soccer is proud that their Youth Initiative’s ethos goes along with the guidelines set up by the Scottish Football Association (SFA).
- Results of individual games are not of paramount importance; in fact one may argue that they are of little or no importance. Player Development is paramount!
- Games involving Speed Soccer players will always be competitive. Speed soccer players will play as they train, getting into good habits early on, working hard, but not in an ultra competitive atmosphere that may well hinder development.
- Player evaluations will ensure that the results that our players are looking for can in no way be found in a teams’ record or league standing. Speed soccer players will enjoy the feeling of needing to improve their knowledge and technical aspects of the game.
- Winning will be taught through using skill, technique, critical thinking, and tactical acumen.
- All of Speed Soccer and Varsity House staff members strive to ensure that the Youth Initiative is the embodiment of what we do on a day to day, session to session basis. This will allow our players to develop, free of stresses placed on them from many external sources
